In “Un Día” the speed of inevitable actions and melancholic contemplation coexist. The narrator understands that there is no point in rushing, that life passes beyond him, that control is an illusion. This is a novel about time, that is, about death. To understand this strange phenomenon, the narrator slows down his observation and hopes that the present will reveal something to him, alleviate his uncertainty, allow him some kind of revenge.
